Western Digital release Android app, lets you control set-top boxes remotely

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Dec 26, 2011 1:08 am

I've had a very Merry Christmas this year, and we at TweakTown hope you have, too. Onto the news, Western Digital have released an Android application, WD TV Remote, which connects to your Western Digital set-top box over a WI-Fi connection, and lets you control it from any Android-powered device.

The app includes one-touch access to every online service available, keyboard entry using Android's on-screen keyboard, a gesture pad for quick navigation and the ability to connect to multiple Android-powered devices at once.

WD TV Remote has a couple of requirements: Android 2.1 or later, a Wi-Fi connection, and third-generation WD TV Live Hub or TV Live system in order to work. You can grab the WD TV Remote Android application here.
