Thecus release N4800 NAS, sports HDMI output

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Jan 17, 2012 4:21 am

We reported on this back in December, but now Thecus have released their HDMI-equipped NAS, the N4800. It should start flowing into retailers shortly, and if you're after a new NAS solution, this has some very nice features that might interest you.

Thecus' N4800 NAS sports HDMI output, which lets you connect your NAS directly to your TV for device management, web browsing with Flash support, and even HD video playback. Something that I did not expect was "Mini-UPS", which lets you quickly write unwritten data to the HDDs and safely shutdown, preserving the integrity of not only the unit, but your data.

N4800 sports USB 3.0 support, as well as Acronis True Image for your data backup needs.

Let's not forgot those tasty things we all want to know, specs. Thecus' N4800 features an Intel Atom D2700, 2GB of RAM, dual Gigabit Ethernet, a 2.8-inch OLED display, HDMI/VGA output, 4 x SATA bays, 1 x eSATA and dimensions are 192 x 172 x 250 (mm).
