Telstra have unveiled Australia's first 4G smartphone, which comes in the form of HTC's Velocity handset. Telstra have the following to say about it:

HTC Velocity 4G is Australia's First 4G Smartphone

Powered by AndroidTM you can seamlessly run apps, listen to music and view pictures in amazing clarity -- all at the same time.

Matched with the Telstra 4G network, there'll be more browsing and less drowsing as you surf the web at lightning speed and experience immediate enjoyment of your favourite online videos.

The HTC Velocity sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.5-inch high-resolution display, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 28mm lens for panoramic shots, and HTC's Sense 3.5, "the most intuitive release yet". Let's talk speed, Telstra advises customers that the typical 4G download speeds for the HTC Velocity will be between 2Mbps and 40Mbps, whilst upload speeds should hit between 1Mbps and 10Mbps.
