Vizio unleashes 58-inch ultra-widescreen HDTV, 21:9 format, $3,499
Vizio have lived up to their CES promise, by releasing their new Theater 3D TVs. Vizio's latest CinemaWide 58-inch HDTV with Theater 3D has been teased, with 50- and 71-inch models also in the planning pipelines. They sport the usual 21:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 2560x1080.
They start at $3,499 which isn't too bad considering what you're getting. It also sports a 120Hz Edge-lit LED screen at 56.7-inches wide by 29-inches high and 1.8-inches deep. Vizio upscales Blu-ray and other sources to 21:9 ratio, without the black bars that annoy most of us.

If you're watching standard HD content, the extra space on the sides aren't just used as love handles, they will also have tiles for Yahoo! Widgets with information from the Internet, without interrupting the picture whatsoever. All I need to know is when Vizio are sending me three of them, and then I'll take three months of my life off to re-watch everything all over again.
