OnLive Desktop launched for the iPad recently, and now has launched for Android. OnLive Desktop is free, available in the Android Market right now, and lets smartphones and tablets run an instance of Windows 7 through the Internet.

The Windows environment is hosted in the cloud through OnLive's servers, and the Desktop client allows remote access over a Wi-Fi or mobile broadband connection. OnLive says that Android-based suers can use Microsoft software on their device, which is a great feature. Software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, or Adobe Reader for PDFs.

OnLive Desktop whilst free, limits data storage to 2GB. For just $4.99 per month, OnLive offers higher priority to the virtual machines and accelerated browsing. For $9.99, 50GB of storage will be made available, but is "coming soon" and will be dubbed OnLive Desktop Pro.
