Samsung announces the pocket-sized Galaxy Pocket

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Mar 7, 2012 2:24 am

Samsung's Galaxy range extends from the largest 5.3-inch Galaxy Note smartphone, to the other side of the spectrum: Galaxy Pocket. The newly-announced Galaxy Pocket sports just a 2.8-inch screen, with a 240x320-pixel resolution, and a reduced feature set, of course.

Galaxy Pocket runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with TouchWiz splashed on top. We should expect spec-wise, an 832MHz processor, 2-megapixel rear-facing camera, 3GB of internal storage (expandable), Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a-GPS and a digital compass.

Samsung's Galaxy Pocket should hit the UK 'later this year' and 'at an affordable price', according to Samsung's press release. At the moment, there's no information on whether we'll see a release in North America or not.
