Roccat app lets you use your smartphone to monitor and control your PC while gaming

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Mar 8, 2012 5:36 am

Roccat have just released a new piece of software, "Power-Grid", which seems pretty damn cool, if you ask me. The app is also free, with Roccat accepting beta testers at the moment. The app is split into two, one for smartphones, one for the PC.

They communicate to each other through Wi-Fi, with the PC application allowing users to customize the controls that are available on the smartphone. Users should be able to do all sorts of things, like adjusting volume levels, monitor system variables, track incoming messages, and execute game-specific functions.

The beta is currently only available for iPhone and iPod touch users, but Android and touch-specific versions are said to be coming soon. Roccat are also developing "complementary" hardware, with the below-pictured "Phobo" keyboard replacing the traditional numpad with a smartphone dock! Yes! The Apuri 2.0 appears to be little more than a bare docking station, we should expect both of these devices "early next year", unfortunately.
