Far Cry 3 video shows off its COD-like multiplayer
Ubisoft's upcoming first-person shooter, Far Cry 3, has enjoyed some hands-on time by the team over at VG24/7. They've thrown up a nicely edited video where it shows off some of its multiplayer goodness, below.
As you can see here with its modes, XP and what not, it definitely has been influenced by FPS kings Call of Duty and Battlefield with things like experience points, leveling up, kill assists, team boosters, air support and a capture-and-hold gameplay mode.
But, it's all about the fun, right? Who cares who or what has influenced it. It looks like a good bash for multiplayer. Long lasting appeal? I think this Far Cry will slide into obscurity as fast as the last one did. I expect reviews to be around 6-7 out of 10. I'll still take a look at it, but it just looks like a run-of-the-mill FPS to me.

If only Ubisoft changed it up a bit and offered the multiplayer portion by itself, for say, $10? That would sell like hotcakes.
