Welcome to the NEW Server!

By: (more) | Computer Systems News | Posted: Sep 16, 2002 2:03 am

You will all be happy to know now that we have just successfully completed a server move, to a new and much more powerful web server. We are now running a Pentium 4 1.7GHz Compaq system with 1GB of memory, as compared to our previous 1.3GHz Pentium 4 system with only 512mb of memory.

For the past two weeks our server logs have been reporting upwards of 460,000 pageviews, per day. We think it isn't actually quite this high but we are doing around 200,000 pageviews per day, as reported by our third party traffic counter.

TweakTown should be loading much faster now, well for us it is for the time being. We'll see how things go later on in the day when we release our UT 2003 Tweak Guide, at which point I'd imagine the server would be begging for mercy, again. Take care and thanks for listening!
