Raspberry Pi finally begins to ship, puts a $35 smile on customers faces

After having a few hiccups in the form of a manufacturing eror, then the certification issue, Raspberry Pi is ready to ship! Yes! It's coming! The Raspberry Pi will float out to the first 10,000 pre-order customers, who did so back in February.

Let's talk stats, first up the Raspberry Pi was selling 700 units per second when the pre-orders opened. That's enough to impress most people I think. This is an insane 42,000 units sold per minute. The device measures in at 3.37-inch x 2.13-inch x 0.67-inch (85.60mm x 53.98mm x 17mm), and sports a 700MHz ARM chip, 256MB of RAM, HDMI, 2 x USB, Ethernet, and an SD card slot.

The hardware is said to include some decent gaming performance, where it should beat Apple's iPhone 4S and NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC. If any of our readers get their hand on the Raspberry Pi, definitely let us know what you think of it, and what you're going to use the device for!
