Australia: CyberCrime Code Ready
DirtyDog from our forums has posted link to a very interesting article.
According to News.com.au, a new CyberCrime Code of Conduct has been prepared that will detail the extent to which Australian ISP's should keep information about users. Information would be used to co-operate with police and other law enforcement agencies.
The draft code is the result of more than a year of collaboration between the internet industry and representatives from police and crime authorities. If published, it is speculated that Australia will be the first country to enact this type of procedure... legally.
It represents an apparently successful attempt by the internet industry to avoid specific new laws being introduced to specify compliance with authorities.
