Amazon's Instant Video streaming hits Xbox Live

By: (more) | HT & Movies News | Posted: May 31, 2012 6:24 am

Amazon and Microsoft have made the Amazon Instant Video streaming media application available to Gold-level Xbox Live subscribers. Right now, over 17,000 streaming videos are available right now, for free, on the Xbox 360.

The service on the Xbox 360 now gives Xbox users access to Amazon's 120,000-strong library of purchasable videos to watch on the console. Watch lists are manageable from either a web interface, or locally on the Xbox 360 itself.

Xbox Kinect technology is also compatible, which can be used to search and play videos, as well as the traditional controller interface. Purchases made from Amazon are instantly loaded onto a watch list for easy selection from the 360.

Amazon joins an ever-growing list of companies on the Xbox 360, such as Epix, CinemaNow, Crackle, Dailymotion, ESPN, Verizon FIOS, Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO, MLB, and more.
