Benchmarked from within AMD labs, they compare the Opteron against an Athlon XP, Athlon Thunderbird, Pentium 4, Pentium 4 Xeon, Itanium 1 and 2 under SPEC CPU2000. The translation is fairly shady but all we really need to see are the numbers, which I stress, should be treated as speculation at this stage. Don't ask me how they managed to run the tests, for all we know an AMD employee could have done them.
