Sony introduces Xperia Tablet S, includes Surface-like optional keyboard cover
The IFA technology show in Berlin kicks off today, and Sony have shown off their Xperia Tablet S which looks like a Sony-branded Microsoft Surface tablet. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the Xperia Tablet S sports a Surface-like cover, with a keyboard built-in.

The cover is an optional accessory, coming in at $100. Xperia Tablet S has some decent specs, sporting a 9.4-inch 1280x800 display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, an IR blaster that can control your TV, Blu-ray and DVD players as well as cable boxes, NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 processor, an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 1-megapixel front-facer for video chats and Facebook selfies. The 9.4-inch tablet rocks Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its OS.
Sony's Xperia Tablet S weighs in at just 1.26 pounds. Sony will also offer a $100 standard docking stand, as well as an upgraded model that would include built-in speakers for $129. As for pricing, the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models will be priced at $399, $499 and $599, respectively. Pre-orders are available right now, and the tablet will begin shipping on September 7, just over a week from now.
