Amazon are 'sold out' of the Kindle Fire, only 7 days until their secret event
We know that Amazon are rumored to be close to launching a next-gen Kindle Fire, but it looks like the retailer are now 'sold out' of the e-book reader. They've also teased that they've got "an exciting roadmap ahead". Amazon also took this time to point out the success of their e-book reader, where they've claimed its the number one best-selling product in their history, taking in a 22% tablet share in the US within just nine months.

But, the company didn't have any sales figures to make this claim concrete, instead market research firm IDC says that Amazon have shipped 1.2 million Kindle Fires in Q2 2012, which gives Amazon third place in the global tablet market with 5%. Samsung's Galaxy Tab range, and Apple's iPad range obviously consume virtually everything else, taking out number two, and one positions, respectively.
Amazon are holding a press conference on September 6 at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California. Amazon aren't giving much details on this event, but we should expect a next-generation Kindle Fire to be announced, and possibly two sizes, a 7- and 8.9-inch Fire 2.
