iPhone 5 gets hands-on

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Sep 12, 2012 8:14 pm

Engadget has gone hands-on with the newly announced iPhone 5 and has shared their thoughts about the new device. Of course, the new device's technical specifications have been kept under wraps, at least regarding the new A6 processor. We're not sure exactly what the details are on it, but Engadget says you can notice the difference.

They liken it to the difference between the 4 and 4S or the 3G and 3GS. Incredibly, the new phone is both taller and lighter, an impressive feat. The iPhone 4S wasn't exactly heavy, but Engadget says this new one is noticeably lighter. However, there is something to say to having a bit of weight to the device--it makes it feel higher quality, to some degree.

Of course, since Apple only stretched the screen along the vertical, the grip to hold the phone is nearly the same as the 4S, so adjusting should come naturally. And, as Apple bragged, Engadget agrees the new screen looks great. It may not make the 4S look terrible, but it definitely is an industry leading panel.
