Google CardDAV, a new way to sync your Google Contacts with iOS

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Sep 28, 2012 11:27 am

I sync everything to my Google account, if I could sync my heart beat to it, I would - but I can't, so I hope Google are working on that. But today, the Mountain View-based company have announced that they're introducing CardDAV - which is an open protocol for contacts.

CardDAV allows third-party clients, such as iOS contacts app, to sync up to your Google contacts. By supporting IMAP, CalDAV and CardDAV, Google make syncing your Google Account, and its contacts, an easy, and painless procedure.

If you'd like to get going and do this right now, Google have even been kind enough to provide some instructions. Isn't this nice? Google actually helping Apple out with something - something we don't see much on the other side of things. The grass is always Googler, I guess.
