Anand goes West - November 2002 Industry Update
Anand, the main man in the saddle, at AnandTech has posted an interesting piece giving his prospective on the PC industry at present, in his latest "Anand goes West" article. He includes information about Shuttle's current and future XPC designs, nVidia's possibly misleading GeForce4 Ti4800 and Ti4800-SE graphics cards, coverage on the readying nForce2 and the battle between SiS and VIA in the Pentium 4 chipset market. All in all, some good reading is to be had this Tuesday evening or morning depending where you are reading from.
For starters we have the GeForce 4 Ti 4800, but don't let the name excite you - the card is nothing more than a GeForce4 Ti 4600 with AGP 8X support. Even more disappointing is that there's talk of a GeForce4 Ti 4800-SE that runs at the same clock speed as the current-gen Ti 4400 but with AGP 8X support.More information @ AnandTech
