Verizon getting Nokia Lumia 822, runs Windows Phone 8, will set you back $100

Verizon customers will be getting the choice of a Nokia phone for the first time in roughly three years. It will be coming in the form of a new Windows Phone 8 device and branded as a Lumia. The Lumia 822 is a variant of the Lumia 820, which is set to go to AT&T exclusively for the first six months after launch.

The Lumia 822 isn't a bad phone. It comes with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.3-inch display, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, with options of up to 64GB. The rear-shooter is of the 8-megapixel variety and the front-facing camera will manage 1.2 megapixels. Nokia claims 11 hours of talk time.

The device will be LTE capable and come in black, white, and grey. Pricing and availability are still up in the air, though Engadget believes the device will set you back $100 on a new two-year contract with big red. The device should launch sometime in November or early December, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
