Intel fan stirs up trouble @ AMD Reality Check

By: (more) | Posted: Nov 27, 2002 5:59 pm

Little did AMD employees presenting the Reality Check show in Seattle yesterday realize that this one devilish person getting around in an Intel t-shirt was none other than my good buddy Tuan Huynh - writer for acceleration.com and Everything USB websites. Unsurprisingly, AMD did not approve of Tuan boldly wearing his Intel t-shirt and it proceeded to get written on by AMD employees with a marker pen, as seen below, and eventually replaced with an AMD t-shirt.

It really is quite amusing to see what competing IT companies will do to have a friendly stab at the competition, behind closed doors, or at least so they thought. It is when media *cough* find out about the tomfoolery, things tend to snow ball with each company trying to out-do the other in their various on-going pranks. Who will ever forget the balloon fiasco at Computex '01 in Taiwan between Intel and VIA? - It is sure to make a good story to tell the grand kids around the camp fire in years to come, or not.

If AMD feels like commenting about this topic, I'd love to hear what you've got to say guys. Anyway I'm sure you will all see the lighter side of this story folks - we can all use a story like this now and again, I reckon.
