nVidia and ATI to use TSMC 0.13 process
DigiTimes Taiwan is reporting that nVidia and ATI will use TSMC's 0.13 micron fab process with nVidia being the first to make use of the technology with their NV30 GPU. The press annoucement is expected to be made on the 16th of December.
This is great news for end-users, but it means we probably won't see any GeForce FX products on shop shelves until early next year now, at least parts based on 0.13 micron technology, which you should aim for.
Graphics chip designer Nvidia and its foundry partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) are set to hold a joint news conference in Taipei on December 16, at which Nvidia will showcase its latest GeForce FX (NV30) chips while TSMC will demonstrate its advanced 0.13-micron processing technology.More information @ DigiTimes
