Bigger is Better, Or So They Say...
In an attempt to make internet advertising "simpler and more cost-effective," the Interactive Advertising Bureau has proposed to solicit ads that are larger than the standard web banners. The package will be offered to members such as AOL Time Warner, MSN, and Yahoo. I personally understand that advertising is a valuable asset to any internet organization, but I don't think I will be happy if the whiz-bops and whoop-dee-doo ads become an intrusive aspect to my browsing. Bigger is better, but only to a certain extent.
The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) - whose members include MSN, AOL Time Warner and Yahoo - has created what it calls a 'Universal Ad Package'.More information @ VNUNet
The package features the new large ad size as well as three sizes the group had previously recommended.
IAB members have agreed to offer the new unit and package to advertisers.
