CES 2013 - This year's Consumer Electronics Show has started off with a bang, which we began our coverage with NVIDIA's CES 2013 Special Event.

NVIDIA started off with a limp, but began to gain steam as the night went on. We heard about how powerful the PC industry is, and how cloud computing is the current, and next big thing. NVIDIA GRID was shown off, which sports more than 200 TFLOPS of power thanks to the 240 NVIDIA GPUs inside, where CEO of NVIDIA stated that it had the power of around 720 x Xbox 360s. NVIDIA also showed off their new Tegra 4 SoC which is seriously powerful - sporting a quad-core processor and 72 GPU cores. Lastly, we also heard something that came out of the blue - Project Shield, a portable gaming device. You can read more on our coverage from the NVIDIA CES 2013 Special Event right here.

Lenovo announced they were splitting into two new groups - the Lenovo Business Group and the Think Business Group - this is effective come April 2013. Seagate unveiled two new storage devices - the Wireless Plus mobile device, and Seagate Central.

4K is huge this year - with Toshiba unveiling their new 84-inch Ultra HD 4K TV, Sony announcing 'Mastered in 4K' Blu-ray discs coming, as well as their new 4K-capable OLED TV, Samsung's CES 2013 Press Conference, which we covered here, talked about a new 85-inch Ultra HD 4K TV, and the other big electronics giant, Panasonic also talked up their new 4K TVs, too.

Intel had some huge news, with resident Notebook & Systems Reviewer - and fellow News Reporter, Trace Hagan reporting about Intel pushing into the smartphone market considerably more with their upcoming Atom Z2420 processor. We can't forget about Qualcomm who announced their new Snapdragon 800 SoC which is capable of outputting 4K, as well as NVIDIA's Tegra 4 which is also 4K-capable. Going back to the Snapdragon 800 SoC - we can expect this bad boy to crank up the quad-core smart device game up to a whopping 2.3GHz... yes, 2.3GHz quad-core processors sitting in smart devices are nearly here... wow.

We saw Marvell show off their DragonFly NVDRIVE with a SanDisk X100 SSD thanks to our amazing storage editors Chris Ramseyer and Paul Acorn - I can't wait to see what else these guys can cover for us. ASUS took some time during CES 2013 to announce their Qube, which is a Google TV-powered device which makes the most of Google TV 3.0.

Corning are showing off their new Gorilla Glass 3 technology which is said to be stronger than ever - I can't wait to see some drop and scratch tests on GG3-sporting mobiles devices and continuing in the mobile news, Acer confirmed they are indeed working on a "less than $150" Jelly Bean-powered, 7-inch tablet.
