End of Days, goodbye Socket 370

By: (more) | Posted: Dec 22, 2002 2:09 am

Intel's four year old Socket 370 processor connector has come to an end as the processor giant announced on 11th of December that it would discontinue its Celeron microprocessors based on the Tualtin-256 core made using 0.13 micron manufacturing technology.

Resellers will be able to make their final tray orders of the 1.4GHz parts on the 11th of April, 2003 - then they are gone for good.

The product discontinuance program started on the 11th of December and the last date Intel's customers can place orders on both tray and retail versions of 1.40GHz Celeron processors is the 11th of April, 2003. The products identified in the notification will be shipped for the last time before December 12, 2003 and July 11, 2003, for tray and boxed versions respectively.
