Nintendo Wii gets access to Amazon Instant Video

By: (more) | HT & Movies News | Posted: Jan 15, 2013 12:01 am

Those who rely on their Wii to provide entertainment in the living room have just been given another tool with which to do it. Amazon has released an app through the Nintendo eShop that will allow the Nintendo Wii to access Amazon Instant Video, much like the Wii can do with Netflix.

It's nice to see Amazon still supporting the older Wii now that the Wii U has been out for a couple of months. The service is only available in the US and there is no word as to whether this will change in the future. It's doubted that they have any reasons for keeping the service to the US only, though, so it should make its way to other regions.

Setup is easy. Just download the app from the eShop and head to the special Amazon landing page to register the console.
