Temple Run 2 finally makes its way to Android, iOS version downloads hit 20+ million
After 20+ million downloads on iOS, Temple Run 2 has finally made its way into the Google Play store. The sequel to the widely popular endless runner game launched early this morning after making Android users wait nearly a week after its iOS launch.
The iOS version topped the free-app chart in less than eight hours after launch. Within 24 hours it had amassed over six million downloads, and reached 20 million downloads in just four days. We can expect the Android version to do as well if not even better if other iOS to Android ports are any indication.
Imangi Studios, the developers behind the Temple Run series, co-founder Keith Shepherd was quoted saying the response from fans was "overwhelming" and added that the studio plans on expanding the game in the coming months. The series has grossed more than 170 million downloads since its release in August 2011.
