RIM adds Music and Videos to BlackBerry World ahead of launch event

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Jan 30, 2013 2:21 pm

In preparation for today's BlackBerry 10 launch event, Research in Motion has added music, TV shows and movies to its recently renamed online app store, BlackBerry World. Music and movies look to have a preview feature while TV shows do not.

Music albums seem to average about $10 in the new store while Movies vary between the $10 to $20 price range. TV shows are somewhat cheap coming in at $1.99 an episode. All of this new content is only available for people in supported regions, which at the moment consist of the US, Canada and the UK.

RIM's BlackBerry 10 launch event is set to take place at 10AM ET this morning, which concludes a year's long struggle to bring a new smartphone product to the market. Research in Motion will be live-streaming the event and I have linked the stream URL in the source #2 location if you are interested in viewing.
