Android 4.x adoption is getting serious, close to 50% now
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAThe Android Developers Dashboard has a new report, unveiling the latest data on just how many devices are running differing versions of Android. The data is good up to February 4, with the data coming from the number of users accessing the Google Play Store in a 14-day period.
As we can see in the above shot, Android 4.x is getting very close to a 50% adoption rate, broken down into 29.0%, 12.1% and 1.4% for Android 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2, respectively. Android 2.3 is still kicking ass, with 45.6% but we're finally seeing Android 4.x nipping on its heels. This would mostly be thanks to the slew of new devices shipping with Android 4.x on-board.
