Computex is go as SARS outbreak contained

By: (more) | Posted: Jul 6, 2003 2:12 am

I just read a story over at The Inquirer which brings a smile to my face. Today the World Health Organisation has issued a report saying that the SARS virus has been contained worldwide and this is very good for the IT industry as it means Computex, one of the world's largest IT expos due to be held this September, will be able to go ahead at full strength.

As a side note, SARS would have never stopped us attending the show; we will be there in force in September with our usual daily coverage of the event, fab tours and interviews!

THE WORLD HEALTH Organisation issued an advisory report today saying that the SARS virus appears to be contained, and that's good news for the IT industry.
Taiwan has now contained the outbreak, which caused the important Computex show to be postponed from June to September.
The show runs from September the 22nd to the 26th in the World Trade Center in Taipei, and vendors are already churning out notices about the products they will show to buyers.
