So did I like the board? Having read other reviews done on the KT-600 series boards I was kind of expecting the worse. I'm happy to say that if you look at this board in the way that it was intended to be used, then you have far more respect for it. Especially when you factor in the fact that I was not running a processor that could take full advantage of the 400MHz FSB. VIA is also famous for finding a way to get just a bit more out of a chipset when they release a B revision, so perhaps that is something else to look forward to.

- Intel lowers Celeron Prices

As expected, Intel Corporation today published updated price list with lowered prices of desktop Intel Celeron processors. The updates are pretty moderate since the prices were decreased by just 6-14%.

- Two Raptors Better Than One?

What happens when you take two of the fastest Serial ATA hard drives and throw them in a RAID configuration? Can two Raptors, by Western Digital, combined in a RAID setup outperform a single SCSI hard drive? Hardware Zone has the answer.

The Western Digital Raptor is undoubtedly one of industry's fastest Serial ATA drive. Spinning at an incredible 10,000RPM, the drive is able to handle high data throughputs via its the new Serial ATA interface which is capable of delivering speeds of up to 150MB/s. The Raptor's seek performance was amazing as it's on-par with some of the more expensive 10,000RPM SCSI drives. However, its I/O throughput is not as impressive as it's still very much limited by the SATA interface which is more than two times slower than the latest Ultra320 SCSI standard.
