- 60GB MP3 Player

Creative has just introduced their latest MP3 player, the NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra with 60GB (or around 2,000 hours of music) of storage onboard. More information in our New Products Forum.

SYDNEY - November 3, 2003 - Creative Labs Pty Ltd, a local subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for PC users, today announced the NOMADR Jukebox Zen Xtra featuring a large, cool blue backlit LCD with bold font for easy music navigation - the award-winning NOMAD Jukebox Zen just got even better. The silver and white NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra is stylishly slim and light, yet holds up to 2,000 hours of high-fidelity digital music. USB 2.0 connectivity allows incredibly fast file transfers and a removable, high-capacity battery provides up to 14 hours of continuous music playback. The NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra with 60GB is slated for November 2003 shipment to Australia and New Zealand at a recommended retail price of AUD$899.00 inc GST.

- External Pioneer DVD Burner

Ian and the folks over at Designtechnica have taken a look at the "slim and stylish" DVR-SK12D Slim external DVD writer from Pioneer.

We cannot argue that the Pioneer drive is great to look at and it would score a 9/10 on the coolness factor alone, but the poor CD-R write times leave something to be desired, at least on the desktop computer side. If you mainly use your laptop computer, then you are probably already used to the slower read/write times since laptops are behind desktops on the recordable CD/DVD side. Overall we were satisfied with the performance of Pioneer's drive. The DVR-SK12D is a very rugged and flexible external drive and would make a great companion for your trips on the road provided you are near a power outlet.
