- Corsair TwinX1024-3200LLPro

If you're in the market for a pair of quality, high-end (and quite expensive) memory sticks, CyberCPU have reviewed Corsair's newest line of TwinX 3200LL Pro memory. Aesthetically, these would have to be the cream of the crop.

In most enthusiasts minds performance is always better then looks but I have to admit that most of that's a lie. Like most enthusiasts, myself included may sacrifice some performance for a killer looking rig. Sometimes though we are able to get a killer looking part for our systems that also helps performance. Today we are talking a look at Corsairs TwinX1024-3200LLPro. These are dual channel optimized 512Mb sticks of Corsairs XMS PC-3200.

Remember 3DFX? How could one not! Toby over at AcesHardware has written up an article that goes back to the days when 3DFX were dominating the graphics card scene, and leads us through the significant changes (broken into generations) right through to where we are today. A very clear and interesting insight for us all.

This article is based on a post I made to the forums almost three years ago (December 17, 2000), back when it was announced that 3Dfx had been sold to Nvidia. 3Dfx was such a dominant company during the few years leading up to this, that many people considered this the end of an era, and the beginning of a new chapter in the graphics market. There was some confusion over how 3Dfx could have risen so far so fast, only to come crashing down again almost as quickly. To help shed light on how a company could be toppled from the throne of a market it created itself, I wrote a brief history of Nvidia and 3Dfx's product lines, describing their successes and failures. This is by no means a complete history, there were other players in the market such as Matrox, NEC, Rendition, S3, ATI, and Number 9, but these were the major two players for most of the time.
