AMD's first Intel mobo to arrive in December

By: (more) | Motherboards News | Posted: Nov 11, 2006 12:57 am

The Inquirer have it that AMD will release their first chipset for the Intel platform sometime in December, that being the currently codenamed "RD600" chipset. DFI are expected to recieve the first of them and there is question as to who else (if anyone) will come aboard and create motherboards based around it.

From what is known about it thus far, it will apparently be a hell of an overclocker, possibly even surpassing NVIDIA's new nForce 680i offering.

Brief details on it can be found here folks.

AMD'S RD600 chipset is AMD's first Intel chipset, ever.

From what we heard it looks like DFI will be the first with the retail board. This chipset has been delayed for quite some time and some companies like Sapphire decided to drop the project. It doesn't look like AMD will make more Intel chipsets in the future, so this might be the last one, but we might be wrong about that. Things change.
