NVIDIA are looking forward to having their new 8800 series graphics cards on display and in action at the event, just to give everyone an idea of how powerful these puppies are.

As such, they thought the big event be worthy of a dedicated press release, you can grab it here peeps.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - NOVEMBER 15, 2006 - Gamers and visitors to the inaugural eGames in Melbourne will experience the power of the GeForce® 8 series of graphics processing units (GPUs). NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, will be demonstrating the capabilities of the new GPUs that take gaming to the next level.

Located at Scorptec Technology's Booth (No. A24), NVIDIA and Multimedia Technology Pty Ltd, a distributor of XFX, will showcase a PC based on an Intel Core Duo E600 and an XFX GeForce 8800 GTX video card. The machine will be connected to a large screen LCD TV to show the running of game demonstrations and benchmarking utilities. Also on display will be a A$4,000 Scorptec Stinger Gaming PC, featuring an XFX 7900 GTX video card, which will be given away as a major door prize at the end of the show.
