Intel's plan for 800MHz FSB Celerons

By: (more) | Posted: Nov 20, 2006 8:09 pm

HKEPC have posted up some details on a couple of upcoming entry level processors from Intel based on Core architecture. Dubbed the "Celeron 400" family, they're the first Conroe-L (single core) processors to hit the market, and also the first ever Celeron processors to use an 800MHz FSB.

Get the full rundown on them here.

In the previous plan, Conroe-L will be introduced in both Pentium E1000 family and Celeron 400 family, but since Pentium E1000 has cancelled, the specification of Celeron 400 has been raised from 512KB L2 Cache/533MHz FSB to 1MB L2 Cache/800MHz FSB as was seen in Pentium E1000 originally.

In the early release of Celeron 400, there will be two models only, including Celeron 430 and Celeron 440 with clock speed 1.8GHz and 2GHz respectively. Intel 64 technology and Excute Disable Bit technology are supported, but not VT, EIST, ViiV and vPRO, however.
