For lovers of ATI based graphics cards, you'll be glad to know that The Inquirer have recently spoken to Rick Bergman of AMD/ATI, in which they've ascertained that AMD plan to continue making desktop graphics cards for a good while longer yet, with R700, R800 and even R900 based future chips in perspective.
WE HAD a chat with one of ATI's executive veeps, who is now an AMD chap. Rick Bergman confirmed that AMD wants to stay in a desktop graphics business.
People close to Nvidia started a rumour that AMD doesn't have enough engineers, power or money to do R700 and the chips after that but Bergman says that's cobblers.
One of the chaps that drive the graphic business at AMD confirmed that DAAMIT has plans for its desktop offerings, including the high end, for at least three more years.
