Holy mackeral! - Early signs are already showing us that DDR3 based memory really stands its own ground as far as overclocking headroom goes. GIGABYTE have kindly forwarded on news that they've managed to ramp up some Micron DDR3 1066 modules to a blistering 2000MHz in dual channel mode on their new (and obviously very overclockable) P35T-DQ6DDR3 motherboard, then higher again at 2080MHz in single channel.

This feat actually puts them in a verified number 1 possy on the CPU-Z Hall of Fame.

Sheesh, and we thought Shane was doing exceptionally well with his 1500MHz achievement yesterday, but then it's quite possible GIGABYTE went to extremes as far as the cooling side of things goes, due to no images or info relating to the setup / cooling used.
