By: (more) | Posted: Jul 20, 2007 9:09 am

Shuttle has announced the availability of its latest XPC, the SG33G5M. It features the Intel G33 chipset and ICH9DH which means that it's Viiv certified if you add the right CPU to the mix. It supports all the latest Intel Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo processors with 1,333MHz FSB and it will take up to 4GB of dual channel DDR2 memory, although if you want to use faster than 800MHz modules, you'll have to use the built in overclocking feature.

The SG33G5M features a x16 PCI Express slot and a single PCI slot. But the G33 chipset features integrated graphics and Shuttle has fitted an HDMI connector to the SG33G5M to make it an ideal candidate for a media center type system, with our without Windows Media Center.

Other features includes Gigabit Ethernet, two FireWire ports, six USB 2.0 ports, three internal SATA connectors and two eSATA connectors and 7.1-channel audio. The SG33G5M also features a front mounted VFD display that can show information about what track is playing, TV program you're watching or DVD time remaining. It's also supplied with a Windows Media Center compatible remote control.

The SG33G5M has a recommended retail price of €328 without sales tax or AU$514. It only seems to be available as a full pre-configured system in the US and it's starting at US$1,249.00 for the basic model.
