First G98 based 8400GS sighted

By: (more) | Posted: Jan 16, 2008 12:57 am

Graphics card partner Zotec has become the first to show off one of NVIDIA's upcoming G98 based graphics cards which sits underneath the G92 as far as performance goes. Branded the GeForce 8400GS this card will inevitably be very lacking in the performance department but it should be a very cost-effective pickup for HTPC users and the like with its HDMI output as well as consuming very little power, running very cool with its 65nm core and coming with three interchangeable I/O brackets.

For full details on the card along with several exclusive pictures head over to Expreview.

Zotac's G98-8400GS is a factory-OCed version. The frequency is at 600/1600MHz(core/mem). Because of the 65nm process technology, the GPU is not very hot. GPU integrated with PV3 engine, can hardware decode H.264 and VC-1 fully. THe card have 256MB 1.2ns GDDR3 memory, and supports TurboCache technology, can upgrade to 1GB.

With the bandled different I/O metal backboard, users can change the video output slot posittion to fit their pc cases. Full review of G98-8400GS can be found here.
