Transcend has fast 16GB Compact Flash

By: (more) | Posted: Apr 22, 2008 4:33 am

It really does seem like yesterday that the biggest flash cards on the market were just 256MB but those days are now long gone.

Today Transcend goes a long way to verifying that previous point by announcing its latest flash product, the Extreme Speed 300X 16GB compact flash card. It will probably cost you a bomb and may not work in all devices but if it does, it will read and write at a very impressive 45MB per second and store like a gazillion raw and uncompressed photos on your digital SLR.

If 16GB is a little over the top for you, the Extreme Speed 300X series also includes cheaper 4GB or 8GB models.

Transcend's Extreme Speed 300X CompactFlash cards operate in dual-channel Ultra DMA mode 5*, the fastest speed available for CF cards. This interface allows Transcend's 300X CF cards achieve extraordinarily fast read/write speeds of up to 45MB per second on average**, making consecutive shooting and non-stop video recording with today's high-performance digital single lens reflex cameras (DSLR) easier than ever. With impressive transfer speeds and enormous storage capacity, users are guaranteed to get the best performance results from their high-end digital equipment.

To ensure reliable, glitch-free data communication and prevent data corruption or missing files, Transcend's 300X CF cards are built with an advanced ECC (Error Correction Code) that automatically detects and corrects errors during data transfer. During the manufacturing process, Transcend uses only brand name, top-tier SLC NAND Flash chips and premium quality components to ensure robust, long-life durability and guaranteed performance. For further peace of mind, not only are all CF cards comprehensively tested for compatibility, speed and reliability, they also carry Transcend's renowned international Lifetime Warranty. Transcend's Extreme Speed 300X CF cards are now available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities.
