Universal Embrace Lossless Audio For BD
Universal Pictures, whom will release their first Blu-ray titles to the U.S. market this June, have announced that moving forward, most, if not all, releases will be encoded in lossless DTS HD Master Audio. This means that unlike their HD-DVD counterparts, which often featured lossless Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital plus audio tracks, their Blu-ray offerings will feature greatly enhanced sonic quality.
This is fantastic news for Blu-ray fans and an interesting move from Universal, whom seem to be taking their Blu-ray plans rather seriously.
Universal Home Entertainment Australia have yet to make any announcement regarding Blu-ray releases for the local market, although we expect to hear word soon.
