Foxconn unveils Digital Life 790FX board

By: (more) | Posted: May 28, 2008 12:53 am

Yet another motherboard has emerged from Foxconn today; this being a new member to their feature-packed Digital Life series. Catering to the AMD AM2+ crowd, the A79A-S is based on the AMD 790FX chipset running AMD's 750 Southbridge.

Some of the feature highlights include AOD Extreme which optimizes the overclocking performance in conjunction with Phenom processors for a higher clock ceiling, and also Foxconn's Dual Digital Audio feature which adds much more flexibility to the way you connect your audio to and from the system, not to mention the board carries both Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect certification.

You won't be short of slots on this motherboard; four PCI-E x16 slots have been added and of course CrossFireX technology is resident. When using all four slots, each slot runs at x8. Using the more common two slot configuration allows for x16 bandwidth across both.

Yantai, China, May 28th 2008 - FOXCONN today announced the first AMD platform Digital Life motherboard - the A79A-S, designed and optimized for AMD socket AM2+ processors with HyperTransport™ 3 technology.

The A79A-S is the first motherboard on the market to pair the new AMD 750 southbridge with the AMD 790FX chipset. The SB750 southbridge includes more connectivity options and the exclusive AMD overclocking technology - AOD Extreme - which optimizes overclocking performance with Phenom™ processors, enabling them to run more than 200MHz faster.

The motherboard supports Dual Channel DDR2 1066MHz memory when used with socket AM2+ Phenom™ processors, to enable the best performance memory solution for the AMD platform.
