Enermax has 82+ PSU on display powering 16 HDDs

COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 We have just had our first look at the Computex halls and as we stepped in the door of Hall 1 we noticed that Enermax had most of their booth ready with products on display.

Enermax was pushing its line of 82+ power supplies and one 625-watt model was powering a server based system that you would normally think you would need a 1000+ watt PSU to operate.

Connected to the system were a grand total of 16 Hitachi SATAI 160GB drives, 16 x 512MB DDR2 Kingston modules, a GeForce 7950GX2 graphics card, four AMD Opteron 8212 quad-core processors and a high-end RAID controller for good measure.

With an amazing 82% efficiency, there is less power loss with the conversation, so you don't need such a large power supply.
