HIS adds four monitor output to notebooks via USB

By: (more) | Connectivity & Communications News | Posted: Jun 4, 2008 7:39 am

COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 Nothing gets the juices going like a quad core graphics setup, but instead of doing it using 2 dual core cards, HIS show us how you kick it old school with 4 single cored cards cross-fired up.

But what's this? Marketing Radeon Products with an NV product?... the fan may be spinning too fast to see but our camera snaps the dirty deed!

What caught our eye more was the 4 monitors running attached to a single laptop. HIS are showing off their USB attached graphics cards of course!

Now these won't play Quake 3 or catch any impressive 3DMark score, but they will give you a simple plug and play solution to get an extra DVI port on your computer.

They run off the USB 5volt line as well so there is no need for external power supplies and are expected to retail around $199 USD but this is not a confirmed figure.

Resolution up to 1600x1200 (or 1680x1050 widescreen) and up to 6 monitors at a time.
