NVIDIA squeeze 9500 and 9800 GT into lineup

By: (more) | Posted: Jul 30, 2008 12:54 am

NVIDIA has squeezed two more models into its already bloated 9 series lineup today; the upper mid-range 9800 GT and the new entry level 9500 GT. We first spotted a 9800 GT yesterday in the form of the ASUS EN9800GT Ultimate which carried with it increased clockspeeds. We also quickly learned that the card is basically a re-labeled 8800 GT.

As for the lil' 9500 GT, this card promises a significant increase in performance over the pre-gen 8500 and even 8600 series cards with its 55nm core running at 550MHz and 32 stream processors operating at 1400MHz. There are both DDR2 and DDR3 equipped 95 GTs with the DDR2 coming clocked in at 1000MHz and the DDR3 model at 1600MHz.
