Confirmation of Crossfire and SLI on ASUS ROG X58

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Aug 20, 2008 10:49 pm

Just yesterday we brought you some tasty images and details of a couple upcoming Nehalem (X58) boards from both ASUS and GIGABYTE.

With AOCC now over, ASUS thought it was time to officially announce one of the worst kept secrets. It's been confirmed that the model from ASUS which is part of the enthusiast based ROG series will not only support Crossfire, as expected, but also SLI!

ASUS R.O.G. X58 will sport both CrossFire and SLI

No one has been able to confirm if the board will have one or two NF200 chips, giving us a x8 / x8 configration or a x16 / x16 one, but you have to admit it would be dissapointing to see such a good looking board be without the latter.

Now, the only thing we need to know is the release date which has been rumored to happen not long after the release of Nehalem. The other thing we need to know is of course the price, though it goes without saying it's gonna require mighty deep pockets.
