Renaissance combines Core™ i7 processor and 3 channel DDR3 memory support with enhanced multimedia features
Yantai, China, Nov. 20 2008 - FOXCONN announce the imminent availability of the latest motherboard in the Digital Life range; Renaissance combines brand new platform technologies with enhanced audio and connectivity features to deliver outstanding multimedia capabilities for your PC.
Based on the Intel® X58 chipset with ICH10R southbridge, Renaissance supports the new Core™ i7 and Core™ i7 Extreme processors based on the socket 1366 interface. Intel® socket 1366 processors utilize QuickPath Interconnect technology which increases bandwidth between CPU and chipset up to 6.4GT/sec.
With 2 threads per CPU core, Intel® Core™ i7 processors feature 8 threads for outstanding multi-threaded application performance, and with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology single-threaded applications can enjoy boosted performance as the processor automatically increases frequency when at least 1 core is not being used.
3 channel DDR3 memory
Watch your memory performance rocket with support for 3 channel DDR3 memory up to 1600(oc)MHz. Even at DDR3 1333MHz speeds, available memory bandwidth is significantly increased over that of comparable 2 channel modules. With an integrated memory controller on the processor, lower latency and higher bandwidth is supported right through to the processor cores, removing the FSB bottleneck which can limit memory performance.
Supports CrossFireX™ and 3-way SLI™
Users no longer need to choose their graphics platform when purchasing the motherboard; Renaissance supports both ATI CrossFireX™ and NVIDIA SLI™ graphics technologies! With 4* PCIe2.0 x16 slots, CrossFireX™ can be supported in either 2* x16 or 4* x8 bandwidth configurations, whilst 3-way SLI™ (2* x16, 1* x8) make for total flexibility when configuring high-performance gaming rigs!
Enhanced audio with HARP
The HARP audio daughter card, which slots into the motherboard, guarantees exceptional audio quality, with 110dB SNR (signal-to-noise ratio). It also includes Dolby Digital Live™ and DTS CONNECT™ technologies.
DTS CONNECT™ includes DTS™ Neo:PC and DTS™ Interactive technologies to re-encode 2-channel audio sources into multi-channel surround sound experiences, which means users can 'upgrade' old audio and video files into true multi-channel digital audio!
DTS™ Neo:PC technology expands any stereo sound source connected to or stored on the PC (CD, MP3, WMA, even Internet FM radio) into 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 channels of surround sound and generates a center surround channel from 5.1 material.
Dolby Digital Live™ converts PC audio to Dolby Digital format for a complete home theater experience, all with a single digital connection to a Dolby® Home Theatre receiver.
The Dual Digital Audio feature enables you to isolate different sound sources on your PC and split them between either the digital coaxical output or via the analogue 7.1 channel audio and front panel audio outputs.
Latest connectivity technologies
Renaissance features a wide range of connectivity options, including the latest SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) interface. Up to 2 SAS devices can be connected, supporting the latest high-performance SCSI storage solutions for your desktop PC! This means you can use speedy 15000rpm SAS hard drives, and because it also supports eSATA and SATA drives you can connect standard 5400rpm drives as well. With 2 drives connected, you can set up RAID 0 or 1 configurations for more flexibility in performance and data security
Renaissance also includes 12 USB2.0 connectors, with an unprecedented 8 connectors on the rear I/O - ideal for users with multiple USB devices. 2 eSATA connectors are provided, for super-fast, reliable access to data. eSATA transfers data up to 6 times faster than USB2.0 making it the connection of choice in today's 'high-bandwidth' digital world.
That's all in addition to 2x IEEE1394a (FireWire) connectors, and 6x SATAII with Intel® Matrix Storage technology that allows easy configuration of SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 & 10 for increased storage performance and/or security.
Engineered for reliability
Motherboard power is provided by a 6 phase PWM which provides more refined power delivery, increasing overall system stability. The 100% SOLID Capacitor design and Ferrite Choke power delivery ensure a stable basis for overclocking and increased reliability.
Improved system control and monitoring
With FOXCONN's proprietary FoxOne™ Premium technology onboard, users can make additional performance enhancements with ease; the Windows-based control panel enables adjustments to FSB, memory and PCIe frequencies, along with voltage controls for CPU, memory and chipset northbridge. FoxOne™ Premium also includes extensive temperature monitoring and fan speed adjustments at the click of a mouse!
