Manual Tweaks Section

As outlined above, there is an advanced section for those more professional users who know what they are doing to their system. While most of these tweaks can be performed by registry and/or file editing, that can be time-consuming and tedious. So why not let PC Booster provide an intuitive and easy interface for you? At the main "Auto Tune" screen, simply click the icon of the hammer and chisel and the following screen will appear:

This is where you can wreak havoc with somebody else's system (am I allowed to say that?) :D

On a more serious note, just click the "To System Tweaks" tab and you will be taken to the first Manual Tweaks screen, the System Tweaks page.

This area provides handy features for those who like to personalise their system to suit their needs. Moving along (I'll let the pictures do the talking), here is the next tab, the Desktop Tweaks one:

The only thing that really needs explaining here is "Smooth Fonts"; this is simply a neat little visual tweak that makes fonts look more visually appealing at the expense of speed. The next tab is the Start Menu Tweaks one:

More preferences can be sorted out here, but nothing too much in the way of "Boosting" system speed. Fortunately, the next tab (Internet Tweaks) does this quite nicely:

The popular MTU, RWIN and TTL values can be changed here, along with preserving privacy by allowing Cookies, Temporary Internet Files and History to be deleted. Next up is the CD-ROM tab:

Because Windows doesn't really have optimal speed settings for CD-ROM speeds higher than 4x, you can change the cache size here quite easily. Auto Play is also easily changed, for both Audio and Data CDs. The Hard Disk Tweaks tab is next:

As I am running Windows 2000 Professional on my main PC system, I cannot change any of the values here (they are limited to Win9x/ME users). So I moved on to the next tab, the Memory tweaks one:

Most options here can be used under WinNT/2000, so you can tweak away to your heart's content. Next up is the Boot up Tweaks tab:

The only real option here is to enable the Boot Menu, which allows you to boot multiple operating systems. All other tweaks are for Win9x only.

This is the Shutdown tweaks screen, where you can change options such as closing troublesome apps when Windows is shut down.
