Looking Around Outside

When you first pull the SB77G5 out of the box, you notice how Shuttle has changed a few things since their previous models. It is nice to see the etched in Shuttle to the side of the XPC. We also have a few other cosmetic changers that can be seen on the front of the unit. The front is a lot cleaner looking with the simple XPC logo down the bottom right corner and a flap so the CD-ROM drive can be hidden away.

The middle of the XPC has the power and reset button on it with LEDs to display when the unit is powered and also when the hard drive is being accessed. The lights aren't as bright as usual so if you have them for a home theater PC you don't have some bright LEDs pointing at you when you're trying to watch a movie or get some rest at night. Good thinking Shuttle!

At the bottom of the unit we have a stealth panel which once opens shows us some of the more useful ports. We have audio in and out ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a mini firewire port found here.

Looking around the back we have all our usual ports that we have grown so accustom too. Apart from our standard USB 2.0, PS2, Serial Ports, Firewire 400 Port we also have a few others like Gigabit Networking via the CSA bus, 6 Channel Audio, optical in as well as out for your home entertainment systems as well as coaxial audio out.

With the outside looked at let's open the SB77G5 up and see if anything has changed under the hood.
